POST 15: This too is a lemon!!!
Citrus is in abundance at this time of the year. I guess it is the universe's way of combating winter chills.
In my opinion, it is a good idea to buy and consume fruits or vegetables that are in season and in abundance. They are high in nutrients and much fresher than out of season, stored or imported produce. In addition, you not only get quality but it is more economical.
Buy seasonal to get quality and savings.
These days, every time I visit the markets, I buy a dozen or two of limes. Enlist a pair of free hands in the house to extract the juice. Then it's into the freezer in ice cube trays. Once frozen, place them in an airtight container for use throughout the year.
I always have a stash of lemon juice, ginger and garlic cubes in my freezer.
Oh! Please don’t discard the lemon peels. Place them in your fridge for a week or two to freshen it up. If you microwave a few on high for a minute, your microwave will smell fragrant as well.
